Beddoes Outlasts Lust To Win London Open Crown

28 Nov 2010

Emma Beddoes outlasted compatriot Victoria Lust in the final of the Women's Coronation London Open to keep the $10,000 WISPA World Tour squash title in English hands for the third year in a row.

Beddoes, the top seed from Nottingham, reached the final of the $10,000 event at the Cumberland Lawn Tennis & Squash Club in the England capital without dropping a game.

Fifth seed Lust made her breakthrough with a straight games victory over second seed Lauren Briggs in the quarter-finals.

But 25-year-old Beddoes, ranked 23 in the world, was too strong for her younger opponent, beating 21-year-old Lust 11-7, 12-10, 11-8 in 38 minutes to secure the fifth Tour title of her career.

Final:
[1] Emma Beddoes (ENG) bt [5] Victoria Lust (ENG) 11-7, 12-10, 11-8 (38m)
