26 Mar 2010

France's Lucas Serme and England's Millie Tomlinson are seeded to win the 2010 European Junior U19 Championships, the leading European Squash Federation Junior Circuit event which will take place in Vienna, Austria, from 27-30 March.

Serme, runner-up in the 2009 championships, is hoping to become the third French winner of the men's title after Gregory Gaultier in 2000 and 2001 and Gregoire Marche two years ago.

The 18-year-old from Creteil, near Paris, would also become the first to continue the success of a sibling, after his illustrious sister Camille Serme won the women's crown a record three times from 2006 to 2008.

British Junior champion Millie Tomlinson, also the runner-up last year, is expected to extend a long line of women's champions from England. The 17-year-old from Derbyshire, who lost out to compatriot Sarah-Jane Perry in 2009, would follow illustrious predecessors including Cassie Jackman (1989 and 1991), Tania Bailey (1997 & 1998), and Jenny Duncalf (2001).
