Bradley Battles To Belgium Open Success

15 Mar 2010

Malta's Bradley Hindle celebrated the third PSA Tour squash title success of his career when he beat Egyptian teenager Amr Khaled Khalifa in the final of the $6,250 Belgium Open at the Flemish Squash Centre in Herentals.

Both players claimed unexpected places in the final after dismissing the top two seeds in the previous round. Hindle, the Netherlands-based third seed, removed top-seeded Dutchman Dylan Bennett in straight games, while Khalifa, the 17-year-old fourth seed from Cairo, ousted England's No2 seed Joe Lee.

And the young Egyptian - hoping to extend his unbeaten record in three Tour finals to date - took the opening game.

But the experienced Hindle, the Australian-born 29-year-old who is ranked 93 in the world, regained control to close out the match 7-11, 13-11, 11-6, 11-5 after 57 minutes.

Final:
