Vanessa Atkinson Lands Linkoping Title

Top seed Vanessa Atkinson beat compatriot Annelize Naude in all-Dutch final of the Zack Women's Swedish Open to lift the $6,200 WISPA World Tour squash title at Linköping Sporthall in Linköping for the first time.

The UK-based former world champion reached the final without dropping a game - but long-time rival Naude, the second seed from Amsterdam, took the opening game in their first meeting since contesting the Dutch National Championship final exactly a year ago.

But world No10 Atkinson, now ranked more than 30 places higher than her fellow countrywoman, upped her game and wrapped up a 9-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-6 victory after 30 minutes.

The success marks the 22nd Tour title of Atkinson's career, but her first for more than a year.
