Canadian Double For Krajcsak In Vancouver

10 Nov 2008

Hungarian Mark Krajcsak netted his second PSA Tour squash title in Canada in seven days when he beat South African Jesse Engelbrecht in the final of the Clearly Contacts Jericho Open at the Jericho Tennis Club in Vancouver.

Fourth seed Engelbrecht reached the climax of the $10,000 Tour event in its fourth year in Vancouver when he upset top-seeded Australian Aaron Frankcomb in a 92-minute semi-final marathon.

By contrast, second seed Krajcsak despatched Dylan Bennett, the third seed, in the other semi in just 28 minutes.

The 24-year-old from Budapest was in sensational form in the final, sweeping to an 11-9, 11-9, 6-11, 11-3 victory over Engelbrecht to win the sixth Tour title of his career.

"Wow what a match, and what a player Mark Krajcsak is," exclaimed tournament organiser Shauna Flath afterwards. "Today nothing was going to go wrong for him....lightening speed, quickness and finesse...what a champion!"

Final:
