Ghosal & Bhattacharya Contest All-Prince Chennai Final

The men's climax of the ICL Chennai Open in the former Indian city of Madras proved to be an all-Prince affair, featuring the nation's two leading players Saurav Ghosal and Ritwik Bhattacharya.

And it was the Indian number one and three times national champion Saurav Ghosal, ranked 55 in the world, who ultimately prevailed - recovering from a game down to beat his long-time rival, a five-times Indian national champion, 7-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-6.

It was a successful defence of the PSA Tour title for the 21-year-old who was born in Kolkata and is now based in the UK - where he has just gained a 1st class Honours degree in Economics at Leeds University.

The triumph marks the third - and biggest - Tour title of Ghosal's short career. But it is the first since he switched to the latest Prince O3 Speedport racquet technology.

Both Ghosal and Bhattacharya join Nicol David and James Willstrop - ranked one and three, respectively, in the world - who are also enjoying rich veins of form with Prince O3 Speedport Black racquets.

There was also Prince success in the women's Chennai Open when Hong Kong's Annie Au beat local player Dipika Pallikal 9-3, 10-8, 10-8 in the final of the inaugural WISPA World Tour event.

Fourth seed Au, using the Prince O3 Hybrid Vendetta, made her breakthrough in the semi-finals where she upset second seed Joshna Chinappa. The 19-year-old former Asian Junior Champion went on to claim the second Tour title of her career.
