Darren Crowns Kalaitzis In Canary Islands Open

English qualifier Darren Lewis despatched eighth seed Fabian Kalaitzis in the first round of the OHL Canary Islands Open in the only upset on the opening day of main draw action in the PSA Tour squash event at the Centro Insular de Squash de Tenerife in Santa Cruz on the Spanish island of Tenerife.

The 27-year-old from Leicester beat the Greek number one 11-10 (3-1), 11-8, 11-6, and will now meet top seed Mohd Ali Anwar Reda following the Egyptian's 11-7, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9 dismissal of New Zealand qualifier Campbell Grayson.
