Teran Topples Hawkes To Set Up Chiu Rematch

Mexico's Samantha Teran upset New Zealander Jaclyn Hawkes in the semi-finals of the Women's Subway Goshen Open to set up a second meeting this month with Hong Kong's Rebecca Chiu in the final of the WISPA World Tour event in Goshen, in the US state of Indiana.

Teran, the No3 seed, toppled second seed Hawkes 9-4, 9-7, 9-4 in 51 minutes to claim her ninth final appearance on the WISPA Tour - and her third this year.

The 26-year-old from Mexico City will meet favourite Rebecca Chiu, who defeated Canadian Carolyn Russell, the No8 seed, 9-3, 9-1, 9-1 in the other semi-final in just 25 minutes.

Celebrating her 15th appearance in a Tour final, world No15 Chiu will be meeting Teran for the second time this month - after beating the Mexican in the semi-finals of the Texas Open in Dallas just a week ago.
