Sebastian Soars To Surprise Home Success In Sweden

After progressing three rounds beyond his seeding, local hero Victor Sebastian swept to success in the Nordic Junior Open in Sweden to lift the men's U19 title after beating top seed and fellow Swede Gustav Detter in the final in Malmo.

The established Nordic Junior Open is the first Grand Prix event of the new 2004/05 European Squash Federation Junior circuit, which attracted a strong entry from all over the continent.

Victories over a 3/4 seed and then the No2 seed took Victor Sebastian, a 9/16 seed, to the final where he fought back from a game down to defeat Detter 4-9 9-7 9-0 9-7.

The women's U19 event provided the predicted result when top-seeded Czech Tereza Dufkova beat Norway's Lotte Eriksen, a 5/8 seed, 9-1 9-3 9-4 in the final.
