Manetta Marks Maiden WISPA Trophy With Liberty Bell Title

Manuela Manetta celebrated her maiden WISPA World Tour title success in the USA when she won the Women's Liberty Bell Open in Berwyn, Philadelphia.

The 23-year-old top seed from Italy dropped her first game of the tournament when she beat India's No3 seed Joshna Chinappa 9-5, 9-2, 6-9, 9-6.

In the final, Manetta faced Canada's fourth seed Alana Miller, the runner-up two years ago who ended seventh seed Tenille Swartz's run in the semi-finals.

It was level after the first two games, but the Italian surged ahead to beat the Pan American champion 9-5, 2-9, 9-4, 9-0.
