Elborolossy Victorious In Valkenswaard Open

15 Jan 2007

Omar Elborolossy claimed the Forexx Valkenswaard Open in convincing style when he beat his compatriot Sherif Moustafa Kamel 11-5, 11-4, 11-2 in the final of this new PSA Super Satellite tournament in the Netherlands.

The 31-year-old Egyptian, a former world No14 has been out of the game for 18 months due to a career-threatening knee injury. Five months after beginning his comeback at the Al-Ahram World Open in his hometown Cairo, Elborolossy looks to be back at his former level.

Second seed Kamel, aged 22, was unable to resist the pressure applied by crowd favourite - and after 43 minutes of high class squash, third seed Elborolossy was able to collect the trophy and the valuable world ranking points.

The success marked Elborolossy's 13th PSA Tour title, but his first since winning the German Open in May 2004.
