Borja & Bradley In Final Brazilian Bid
3 Oct 2004
Top seeds Borja Golan and Bradley Ball will meet in the final of the Brazil Open in Goiania-Goias.
It took 53 minutes for Golan, the No1 seed from Spain, to reach his second successive final in Brazil with a 7-11 11-4 11-6 11-6 victory over France's third seed Stephane Galifi.
The Frenchman controlled the first game but tired quickly thereafter - possibly paying the price for his recent success on the PSA Tour.
In the other semi-final, Bradley Ball ended US teenager Christopher Gordon's impressive run in the event in straight games after 38 minutes. The second-seeded Englishman had the control of the match and denied Gordon any chances - ultimately cruising to his 11-6 11-8 11-9 victory.
Semi-finals:
[1] Borja Golan (ESP) bt [3] Stephane Galifi (FRA) 7-11, 11-4, 11-6, 11-6 (53m)
[2] Bradley Ball (ENG) bt Christopher Gordon (USA) 11-6, 11-8, 11-9 (38m)
