Krajcsak & Kitchen Crowned Oslo Champions

Hungary's Mark Krajcsak and New Zealander Shelley Kitchen emerged triumphant in the new Grays Oslo Open at the Myrens Sportssenter in the Norwegian capital.

Victory in the men's final brought to a climax three years of hard toil on the PSA Tour for second seed Mark Krajcsak - and the reward of the first ever PSA Tour title win by a Hungarian.

The 22-year-old from Budapest was celebrating his third appearance in a PSA final this year - as well as a runner-up position in the World University Championship in September.

But after triple disappointment, Krajcsak finally made his long-awaited breakthrough with an 11-6, 11-5, 11-5 victory in 30 minutes over Romain Tenant - ending the French qualifier's giant-killing run at the new squash centre in Oslo.

By contrast top seed Shelley Kitchen notched up her seventh WISPA World Tour title success when she beat Welsh champion Tegwen Malik, the fourth seed, 9-2, 6-9, 9-4, 9-2 in the women's final.

It was the perfect 27th birthday present for the Commonwealth Games bronze medallist from Auckland, who is currently based in Pontefract in England.

While Kitchen's campaign on the 2006 WISPA Tour is now completed, Swansea-based Tegwen Malik races to Monaca where she takes on fourth seed Jenny Duncalf in the first round of this week's Monte Carlo Classic.
