Samy & van der Heijden Celebrate Maiden European Circuit Titles

Egyptian Karim AGA Samy and Milou van der Heijden, from the Netherlands, celebrated their first success on the European Squash Federation (ESF) Junior Circuit with victories in the Hungarian Junior U19 Open in Szeged, Hungary.

Samy, the 17-year-old top seed from Cairo who is based in England, beat a pair of Swedes in the two rounds leading to the final - where he overcame Israel's No2 seed Ido Avron 9-5, 8-10, 9-2, 9-4.

Van der Heijden, the 15-year-old second seed who reached the third round of the European Junior U19 Championships, faced Czech favourite Lenka Vlkova in the women's final.

After dropping the first game, van der Heijden stormed back to beat the top seed 8-10, 9-1, 9-2, 9-3.
