26 Sep 2006

Australia's Stewart Boswell and Scot John White will meet in the final of the MPM St Louis Open after ending the run of high-flying Egyptians Ramy Ashour and Mohammed Abbas in the 5-star PSA Tour event in the US state of Missouri.

Boswell, the fourth seed from Canberra, moved into his first PSA Tour final of the year after beating eighth seed Ramy Ashour 11-7, 11-3, 8-11, 11-5 in 50 minutes.

Ashour, the 18-year record two-times world junior champion, reached the last four after upsetting his experienced compatriot Karim Darwish, the top seed, in the quarter-finals.

White, the second seed who is now based in Philadelphia, celebrated the third PSA final of the year on his newly-adopted 'home' soil when he defeated fifth seed Mohammed Abbas 11-3, 11-9, 11-7 in 33 minutes.

Coincidentally, both Boswell and White are celebrating their 26th PSA Tour final appearance - and their first meeting on the Tour since the Australian clinched victory in the Swedish Open final more than three years ago.
