While favourites Wael Farag and Nikola Polanska claimed the titles in the Head Hungarian Junior U19 Open, there was disappointment for the second year in a row in Hungary's fourth largest city Szeged for runners-up Ido Avron and Lenka Vlkova.
Egyptian Wael Farag and second-seeded Israeli Ido Avron met in the men's U19 final as predicted by the seedings. But Farag, who reached the climax on the eve of his 18th birthday without dropping a game, was too strong for his opponent - consigning Avron to runner-up position for the second successive year after his 9-1, 9-5, 9-4 victory.
Czech teenager Lenka Vlkova also ended up as runner-up for the second consecutive year in the women's event. But the 18-year-old led after the first two games before top-seeded compatriot Nikola Polanska fought back to claim a dramatic 6-9, 3-9, 9-5, 9-3, 10-9 triumph.
